About me

I'm a graduate student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, where I'm a Graduate Research Assistant in the Wang Lab. My research focuses on building personalized automatic speech recognition systems for individuals with disordered speech, including stuttering, dysarthria, and apraxia, with adaptive pipelines that improve over time for each user.

My undergraduate training at Northeastern was rooted in hardware: PCB design, embedded systems, and hands-on lab work. Since starting graduate school my work has shifted entirely to the software side, but my original interests never changed. I've always been drawn to the application of engineering toward biomedical devices and tools that improve people's lives.

Research

Personalized ASR for Disordered Speech

Wang Lab · UT Austin · 2025 – present

Developing adaptive automatic speech recognition pipelines for individuals with stuttering, dysarthria, and apraxia. The system is designed to learn from each user over time, closing the performance gap between neurotypical and disordered speakers.

Human-Robot Collaboration

Action Lab · Northeastern University · 2024

Nominated via the UPLIFT Program to assist in HRC research. Calibrated motion-capture data in Qualisys Track Manager to analyze discrete and rhythmic motor patterns.

Projects

BLE-enabled wristband and base-station pipeline for continuous patient vitals monitoring (heart rate, SpO2, temperature, motion) in hospital waiting rooms. Generates real-time severity scores to help clinicians prioritize care. Designed custom PCB hardware and firmware; built the clinical-facing web dashboard.

CaptionXR: Real-Time XR Captioning

Personal project  ·  GitHub

Unity-based live caption overlay system that renders real-time speech captions within an XR environment, integrating speech recognition with spatial UI rendering for accessibility in extended reality.
